Suzypal                                           Suzy "Pal" Powell lives in Plains, Texas

 Suzy Powell started out doing oils in the 80's. After developing an allergy to the oils, she started doing pencils, and pastels, but she had always loved watercolor.

 In 1991 she took her first workshop and has been hooked since. She has taken workshops with Don Getz, Joe Belt, Marsha Wilkes, Marvin Stevenson, JoBeth Gilliam, Helen Gwinn, Betty Carr, Jan Kunz, Naomi Brotherton, Ken Hosmer, Vicky Clark (pastel artist), Tony Couch, Margaret Martin, Frank Francese and George James.

 Suzy is a member of West Texas Watercolor Society, and in the local art association in her home town.  

Suzypal currently has watercolor paintings hanging in both public and private collections.  One of her very large flag paintings was purchased by Yoakum County in Plains, Texas and now hangs in the county courthouse.  Suzy's work was  featured in the North Light Magazine in December, 2002.  And later she had a Christmas scene and a postcard in North Light.  A floral was featured in Watercolor Magic's Website in June, 2003,and then two more of her paintings were on their website.   A Western painting was  the cover on Yoakum county Historical Society Calendar Cover for 2002, Yoakum County Connection T-Shirt Design in 2002-2005. and  again in December featuring her Christmas Art. Some of Suzy's sketches were featured  in Artist's Sketchbook in January 2004. .   Texas Country Register and Oklahoma Festival papers used her art as their front cover.  The Senior Connection from Chicago Illinois also used a Christmas scene for their front page of their Christmas issue in 2005.
